Pockets pockets pockets

Margalef is fast becoming one of the most popular venues in the world.  Many people come here with the idea that the routes are steep, bouldery, pocket pulling fests!!  They soon realise that it is infact an area so extensive that there really is something for everyone here.  With two valleys full of conglomerate butress’ offering all year round climbing, grades to suit all abilities and styles from slabs, cracks, tufas and of course  plenty of steep rock too!!  There is continued development of the area and routes are superbly equipped.

The village

The sleepy little village of Margalef in the heart of the priorat wine region has seen great change over the last few years as the popularity has increased.  The village now has a shop selling everything you would need for your stay with friendliest owner you will ever meet, the very lovely Anna, who will make you feel welcome to the village no matter which language you speak.  Margalef has 3 bar/restaurants and a restaurant so with so much variety you might not even need to cook at home!!

Getting here

You have a choice of two airports (depending on time of year).  Barcelona which is approximately 2 hours drive and Reus airport, which is just over an hour away, however flights do not operate to Reus throughout the winter.
