The old Bakery!!
This is the first time since the property was built 150 years ago that it is being used as a house!! The property was originally the village bakery also storing grain and animals residing on the ground floor! The house is situated in the centre of Margalef, 3 doors from the village shop and a few metres from the cafes/bars. The property does not have it’s own parking, however you are able to drive to the property, unload and park 50 metres away.
The renovation
We finished the renovation of the property in May 2015, we have attamepted to keep the rustic and catalan feel, with the gaudi style curved stairs and vaulted ceilings. We have re used tiles, bricks and wood that was originally in the property, where possible.
The property comfortably accommodates individual groups of 1-6 people (rooms are not rented separately).
The layout
The ground floor has a large area for storing kit/bikes and there is a tumble dryer.
The first floor is an open plan living area with a large kitchen equipped with washing machine and dishwasher, dining area and living room. There is a pellet burner on this floor which heats the whole house with pipes that blow hot air both upstairs and downstairs, directly into the bedrooms.
The 2nd floor has 2 spacious, light bedrooms and a large bathroom. Each bedroom sleeps 2 people.
All bedding and towels are provided.
Children and animals
We love animals and we would love them to come with you to enjoy your holiday, so well behaved pets are welcome at no extra charge, we do ask that a larger security deposit is left however incase of damage to the property. Please let us know upon booking if you wish to bring your furry friends!!
We have one cot and a high chair for children. We do not provide bedding for the cot. If you need more than one cot or high chair please let us know and we will attempt to arrange this.
